General Information
Official name: Blue Lantern Central Power Battery
First Appearance: Green Lantern Vol 4 36 (December, 2008)
Type: Central Power Battery
Used by: Blue Lantern Corps

The Blue Lantern Central Power Battery was built to serve as the repository for the blue light of hope in the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum. Because the blue light is the most powerful of the Emotional Spectrum, members of the Green Lantern Corps must not move too close to the Central Power Battery, lest their Power Ring implode and take their limb with it.

The Blackest Night

After the Sinestro Corps War, the Guardians of the Universe repealled their ban on the Vega System which led to a conflict with Agent Orange on the world of Okaara. As a stalemate emerged, the Oans decided to form another treaty with Larfleeze in order to contain him within the Vega System. However, in exchange, Agent Orange wanted to know the location of the world where the Blue Light of Hope resided to which the Guardians gave him the coordinates. Whilst remaining in his sanctuary on Okaara, Larfleeze sent his Orange Lantern Corps Lantern Energy Constructs to attack Odym with the intention of taking the Blue Lantern Central Power Battery. This led to a conflict with the worlds defenders and Agent Orange nearly managed to overwhelm them. However, at that point, The Blackest Night emerged with Black Lantern Power Ring's entering Larfleeze's chambers where they reanimated the dead whose souls he had taken thus turning them into members of the Black Lantern Corps. They attacked him and forced him from Okaara, this combined with the arrival of Hal Jordan on Odym allowed the Blue Lantern Corps to fight off the Orange Lanterns and thus save the Blue Lantern Central Power Battery.

The New Guardians

When the representatives of the different Corps took a break from learning about the Orrey that had appeared in the galaxy, Saint Walker went back to Odym. His respite was ended, however, when the Reach invasion fleet attacked with both harvesting ships and Scarab warriors. Saint Walker led the Blue Lanterns in defending the Blue Central Power Battery, but even with Green Lantern Kyle Rayner's help, they could not hold the line against the Reach. Saint Walker was forced to abandon the Blue Central Power Battery to the Reach's forces and retreat from Odym.
