Slushh is a globular being composed of acids which can liquify flesh within seconds, leaving only the bones left to be carried around in his body. He was imprisoned by the Warlords of Pisun in a red oil sea for millions of years until he was freed by a Qwardian Power Ring and joined the Sinestro Corps. Slushh was part of the force under Sinestro that targeted Coast City for destruction, but they fled when Sinestro was arrested by Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner. He joined up with a group of Sinestro loyalists to rescue Sinestro when the Green Lantern Corps was escorting him to Korugar for execution, only to be in turn ambushed by the Red Lantern Corps. Slushh managed to survive and regroup with the other survivors under Romat-Ru to launch a second rescue attempt on Ysmault, with Sinestro being freed.

The Blackest Night

Slushh was one of the many Sinestro Corpsmen fighting the Star Sapphires on Zamaron, trying to free the female corpsmen of the sapphires conversion crystals. The battle was interrupted by the arrival of the Black Lantern Corps, led by Amon Sur. After fighting Sinestro, Amon was liquified by Slussh. This only lasted for a few moments, as multiple black power rings penetrated Slussh, reanimating Amon and the other dead bodies inside Slussh, badly damaging his membrane as they came out of him. Along with the rest of the Sinestro Corps, Slushh participated in the Lantern battle against the Black Lanterns on Earth.

  • Qwardian Power Ring: Members of the Sinestro Corps use yellow power rings built on Qward. The rings can create objects based on the wielders own thoughts. The power rings are fuelled by fear instead of willpower. The yellow rings are charged by Manhunter androids that have yellow power batteries built into themselves, which in turn are connected to a large yellow Power Battery based on Qward. The rings have no known weaknesses, unlike a Green Lantern power ring's previous vulnerability to yellow. Also, the yellow rings are not restricted from killing sentient beings as the Green Lantern's power rings were.
